![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I approached my first certification having practice enough in the lab. I've taken many certifications and have come to realise that the real world answer sometimes may not be the real answer. Passing certifications could be tricky especially if you come from the "study hard pass hard school". I can't even figure out which button to push in order to post this doggone thing! What has the experience of other newcomers to Excel been when they try to get Certified and what have been the most useful tutorials and/or study methods? I was going to take the Cert Test again today but after failing the PreTest last night, I'm spending the weekend studying the MS Tutorials again, focussing on the sections that I did the worst in (i.e., all of them). On the MS Excel Pre Tests, I've scored 500, 659,and 545, on 8/1, 8/11, and 8/28, respectively. And MS summarily dismissed my request for a hand-grading of my test. I KNOW that I knew more about the program the 2nd time than I did the 1st time. The second time I took it, after studying MS Tutorial and Measure up, I actually went DOWN to 415! Which is absurd. I am scoring in the 90% on all the practice tests but the highest I've scored on the Cert Test was 463-my very first attempt! This is my first experience in MS Certification and I cannot believe the vast difference between the between the 3 study aids that I've purchased (Skillport Tutorial, MS Excel 2007 Tutorial, and Measure Up Certification Practice Test) and the 2 Certification Tests that I've taken so far. I had qualified as an "Advanced Excel User" under the Skillport Test, but I never considered their test to be an accurate measure of my ability. I wasn't an experienced Excel user before beginning this effort. Why am I having such a flippin' impossible time passing the test? Well, I have a question about the Certification Test on Excel 2007. ![]()
